FAQ's

Thank you for your interest in my bags! I'm so glad you're here.

General Questions

Are your bags really one of a kind?

Yes, every bag you buy is 100% one of a kind, the only one like it in the world.  Many of my bags will be sewn from the same pattern and will be the same structure, but I’ve never sewn a bag the same way twice.  Occasionally the exteriors may look similar, but the linings will always be different and unique.

The bag I really wanted just sold.  Will you make me another one like it?

I may make another one with a similar exterior (or interior) but it won’t be exactly the same.  Check out my Custom Bag page for information about opportunities for ordering custom bags. I’d love to help you out.

Where are your bags made?

I make my bags in my home studio in Connecticut, usually while my kids are at school while the dog is under my feet and with chill tunes playing in the background, or the latest episode of one of my Bravo shows.  :)

Do you make custom bags?

Depending on the time of year, I may be taking custom orders.  Check out my Custom Bag page for the most up to date information on this and how it works.

How should I care for my bag?

When in doubt, a little water on a soft cloth with mild soap and gentle circles will help get out stains.  Most of my bags have either waxed canvas, cork, or vegan leather (vinyl) as the main exterior so they are treated or naturally water and stain resistant.  (Lucky for you!)  Check out my page on Bag Care for more details.

Where do you get your materials?

I order my materials from a variety of small shops across the internet and the world!  Some of my favorite source shops are Emmaline Bags in Canada, Miss Matatabi in Japan, and My Handmade Space in the US.  I always order items in small batches to limit waste and keep things fresh.  Check out my Process page to find out more about how I sew the magic.

Shipping

See below or check out the Shipping Page for more details

What are your shipping fees?

Orders in the US over $100 will ship for free.  Shipping charges from orders less than $100 in the US or any orders outside the US will be calculated and displayed at checkout.  If you are outside of the US you may have to pay taxes and import duties which are incurred once the shipment reaches your destination country.

When will my order be shipped?

I always try to send out orders immediately.  You can expect an email as soon as your items ship, within the first 2 business days from when your order is placed.

What is the status of my order?

Once you receive your email that your items have shipped you can follow the link provided to track your order to your door.  If you have any more specific questions about your order go ahead and respond to that order confirmation email and I’ll help you out.

Can I send my package as a gift, without an invoice?

Yes, of course!  I love sending gifts.  Check the box at checkout indicating that your order is a gift and I’ll be sure to omit any invoices and can also include a handwritten note if you let me know with your order what you’d like me to write.  (I have lovely penmanship and adorable Japanese stationary).
